Crispian Bakery is a great place to get pastries or coffee. The staff is sweet and super helpful. I went twice while on a four day trip. Both times the food was amazing and my lattes were delicious. My daughter can be a little shy to try new food and drinks. The staff there made her feel encouraged to try something out of her comfort zone and even said if she didn't like it they'd give her something else for free. I will be going again next time I'm in Alameda!

Easily the best quality bread and pastries in Alameda. Also great cakes. Affordable and delicious. Sadly to-go only so I always grab enough to eat now and some bread to freeze for later.

The point of eating is to slow down life long enough to promote simple charm and good cheer. Eating any of Crispian's Bakery's delicious pastries and breads doesn't just take time - it makes time and carves out space for the sweetest things in life. Highly recommend their pain de mie for luxe French toast and their pastries for any moment you'd like to slow down and savour. Bon appetit!

Love the croissant - delectable with rich ingredients. Update on shopping experience, 2018-6-2: Finally met a girl who’s enthusiastic and courteous (without an attitude) when asking questions and ordering croissants 🥐 and rustic baguette 🥖🤗 (after coming here 4 Saturdays in a row)

Ordered a 6 inch triple chocolate mousse cake for my husband’s birthday. There was a slight mess-up with finding my order at pick-up but was quickly resolved. Cake is any chocolate lover’s dream but we wished it had more cake vs icing/filling..seems like smaller cakes have a thin layer of cake only. Also tried their almond croissants and tomato sariette pastry which was a delicious and crispy savory treat for a late breakfast!

The local beauty of bread. Tasty, crispy, delicious. Would buy anything again- their pies, bread, pastries.

Went in to buy a last minute bday cake and chose the chocolate caramel pecan. In short, it was an absolute hit, everyone loved it! Not only was the cake beautiful to look at (people hesitated to cut a slice because it looked so nice), but it was delicious! It was perfectly balanced in buttercream to cake to caramel pecan filling. Each element was scrumptious on its own, and combined was cake perfection! Along with the cake, the kouign amann and the oatmeal and golden raisin cookie will be something I get any time I can make it to this bakery.

Nice little bakery with great prices for their breads and other items. We were a bit late in the day so many of the daily specials were sold out. I got a cinnamon roll, sticky bun bread pudding, and a pumpkin muffin. The pumpkin muffin had no wheat and since it could come into contact with wheat it wasn’t labeled gluten free. I liked the orange icing on the cinnamon roll but would have liked more cinnamon in the roll. My favorite was the sticky bun bread pudding! I ate half of it cold and the other half microwaved and loved it both ways. I wish that there was a table or two inside.
